It may still feel like summer, but the kids are getting ready to head back to school. This year, they will be well supplied with new backpacks filled with school supplies. On Tuesday, August 23rd, Mountain Health & Community Services (MHCS) held their 6th annual Back to School Event at the Mountain Empire Community Center. There were families lined up two hours in advance with eager students.

The Heart of the Mountain Awards were presented at a ceremony that took place at the Campo Community Center on May 11, 2011. The awards ceremony was sponsored by the Back Country Messenger and Mountain Health & Community Services.
