The Back Country Messenger is a monthly newspaper serving the Back Country communities of the Mountain Empire.

The Messenger is distributed throughout the communities of Alpine, Barrett, Boulevard, Campo, Descanso, Dulzura, Guatay, In-Ko-Pah, Jacumba, Pine Valley and Potrero.
